Here you’ll find 5 Facts of interest about the movie “Titanic”.

1. About James Cameron. When James Cameron (the film director) wrote the screenplay for the film, he supposed the main characters Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater was to be fictional. Only after the script was completed, Cameron surprisingly learned there was indeed a passenger on board of the Titanic, J. Dawson. Real Joseph Dawson was born in 1888 in Dublin. His body was buried in Nova Scotia with the other dead. His tomb (№ 227) now is the most visited one in the cemetery…

2. About Gloria Stuart. Actress Gloria Stuart (Rosa in old age) received nomination in “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” category. And she happened to be the oldest one between actress and actors ever nominated for “Oscar”. She was then 87.

3. Again James Cameron Another fact of interest about the movie “Titanic” refers to the picture of Rose. It was drawn by James Cameron himself; we could see his hands in the respective scene. All the other pictures in the Jack’s album were also the director’s works.

4. About decorations. The decorations in the ship interiors – from carpet to the chandeliers – were reconstructed and were under supervision of the companies that equipped a real “Titanic” in 1910-1912.

5. Curious fact. About 120 tons of water has been used when shooting the final scene of the ship submersion into the ocean.

Tolkien. You may believe you know just everything about this favorite movie of yours, but we bet you’ll find here some facts of interest about “Lord of the Rings” you’ve never heard before.

1.	Some computer magic. The computer software MASSIVE was used to create the armies of orcs, elves and humans. The main feature of this soft enables the director to “see” the battlefield through the vision of any creature!

2.	Count the ears! More than 1,600 pairs of attached ears and artificial hobbit feet were produced while filming. The stock of these “limbs” had to be renewed daily, as at the end of shooting day they have been outworn. To avoid the leak of the “artifacts” to the black market, they were collected and destroyed. However, Dominic Monaghan, who plays the role of Merry, has withheld a couple of both “decorations”.

3. Here comes the song. Singer Enya recorded two songs for the film. These are “Aniron Theme for Aragorn and Arwen” and “Here Comes Desire”. Alanis Morissette and Axl Rose (“Guns’N’Roses”) also greatly contributed to the movie’s original soundtrack.

4.	Illiterate Gimli. Actor John Rhys-Davies (impersonates Gimli, the Dwarf) has never managed to read all books of Hobbit Saga through. Despite his appearance in all parts of sequel, he confessed one day that he was falling asleep immediately after he started reading Tolkien’s Trilogy.

5. Sprechen Sie Elvish? Have you ever thought about how the elves speak? J.R.R. Tolkien has developed a special language for them. It’s called elvish. It is similar to the Welsh with the addition of Celtic dialects. And there are people who are very fluent in elvish. Cate Blanchett, for example really spoke this language in several scenes.

Since that time Tom Hanks hero earned millions of devoted fans worldwide. If you are one of them, you doubtless want to know seven facts of interest about “Forrest Gump”.

1. Bloop! Tom Hanks once said during the filming of one scene: “My name Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump”. In fact, the actor made a blooper, but Zemeckis liked it so much, he even decided to save it without editing in final copy.

2. Workaholic. When the football scenes were on schedule, Tom Hanks was suffering the flu, but didn’t quit and bravely continued working.

3. Famous kids. We could see Alexander Zemeckis (director’s son) and Elizabeth Hanks (daughter of actor) in some short episodes.

4. Picky star. Tom Hanks has agreed to take part in the project under single condition: all the movie’s events must be based the real historical background.

5. Bad boys! In 1988 Warner Bros. renounced the copyrights on this project, referring to the eventual commercial fail after the “Rain Man” release.

6. Somebody really speaks like that? Tom Hanks learned the original accent of Forrest Gump from Michael Conner Humphreys (who played the part of young Gump). Michael indeed speaks that way.

7. Frie-e-endly fire. The scene where Forrest Gump receives the Medal of Honor was edited from the archival chronicles with 1st Class Private Sammy L. Davis (19 November 1968), who really had injures in the back and buttocks, caused by “friendly fire”.
