An andrologist of the Faculty of Medicine, Catholic University of Fu Jen, Taiwan, Dr.Han Sun Chiang MD, mentions that from a research which is imposed upon 2249 Senior High School students in Taipei, it is revealed that fifty-seven percent of these students have been accustomed and feel much comfort to make date by way of internet and even have sexual intercourse within a night. The more worrying is that about five percent of them have already been accustomed to doing the same kind of activity.

“No doubt, internet is immensely helpful, nonetheless the incorrect use of it will, on the reverse, give rise to social matters. At present time, sexual  violence are even increasing, unwanted pregnancies more frequently take place, spreads of contagious sexual diseases can no longer be avoided”, confirmed Hun in Congress.

“That is why, Han added, this is a good opportunity to make advantage of internet as a means to consult as well as to give sexual education to teenagers”. Even for adult people, cyber sexual counseling or consulting by way of internet is a very helpful means.

According to Han, in Taiwan an official site managed by government which provides some information around sexual and eurological fields has been set up since 2004. Until February 2005, more than thirty questions are collected and eighty six percent are concerned with sexual matters.

“We believe that in this internet era, cyber sex is trendy for the growing sexual habits. However, with internet too, education through this instrument can be applied to the young generation. In the future, such media intervention as sexual counseling through internet will be much more effective to cope with varieties of sexuality matters in our society”, Han elaborated.

It goes without saying that internet supplies opportunities for interpersonal meeting, regardless of places now that access can be done everywhere and it becomes more and more portable, and keeps secret.

For instance, you can play charades, “Names of…”, Quick on the Draw, or Story Line Game. These games will not just kill boredom while waiting for the rain to stop. It will also get the family together in one fun activity.

Outdoor Games. As the name implies, outdoor games is one kind of family games where you can play outside. Usually, the games included in this category are sports such as croquet, badminton, or volleyball. But family members can also play other kinds of classic and traditional outdoor sports such as sardines (this can also be indoor), Frisbee games, and water games which you can play in your spacious backyard. The advantage of this is that you can enjoy quality time with your family while at the same time being able to exercise and flex those wiry muscles by running, catching, jumping, or swinging.

Family games are fun for all. Some of them can enhance thinking abilities and problem solving skills and some can also make you sweat a lot. Playing games with your family is another way of bonding with them in your busy and fast-paced everyday life.

Altered art is not a new art form. Artists have been transforming everyday objects into works of art for a long time. Altered art is the result of taking a found object and changing it in some intriguing way. It’s an idea as old as art itself. It has become a very hot trend in the past few years, especially amongst crafters. However artists have been altering things for years.

In the middle ages monks in the monasteries would copy new text over older parchment manuscripts. Parchment was so precious that it was recycled rather than thrown away.

Then as time progressed it was common practice for artists to paint over earlier less important paintings. During the modern art movement, Picasso, Georges Braque, Kurt Schwitters, Marcel Duchamp and Robert Rauschenberg all used found objects in their works. They managed to create breathtaking works of art from ordinary objects such as a bicycle wheel, bottle rack, tires, stuffed animals, and lamps just to name a few.

In the mid 1900’s the artist Joseph Cornell created exquisite box constructions. He used objects such as natural, found, old papers, and photographic reproductions. He was a master at juxtaposition and fine detail.

Creating a piece of altered art isn’t rally all that difficult. Altered art is created using three primary elements; imagery, text and object. Images communicate to the viewer what we are trying to express in the art work. Artists have been adding text to their works since the invention of the written language. Text may be added to identify the chosen image or to convey additional meaning. The objects that can be used are unlimited. It could be a spoon, hairbrush, a box or an old book. Some artists focus primarily on altering books.

Turn old books or vintage containers into delightful and exciting new creations. If you look around your house you will see numerous items that you have kept or collected and these can be the beginning of an altered art project. You can transform them into a wonderful expression of your own artistic vision.

I was born in St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. A few years later we moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where I spent my childhood and early adulthood.

I remember the first award I received was in Art class in grade 10. The superintendent of the Winnipeg School Board bought one of my paintings! I was so excited!

I received my BFA at Emily Carr College of Art and Design and spent another year studying philosophy at The University of British Columbia. During this time my husband learned English, drove a taxi, received his BMLS degree (Bachelor of Medical Lab. Sciences) and received his DMD degree (dentist).

Another award I received was First Prize at the Pacific Northwest Annual Show at the University of Oregon, U.S.A. It is in their private collection.
